Cyber Monday ELF 50% off haul

Not only do I wait for the coastal scents 50% off everything sale, I also waited for ELF's 50% off which only happens one or twice a year (including their annual birthday one which usually is 60% off but it was only 50% off this year).  So when it happened on cyber monday, I jumped on it! I actually had to go to work really early that day and only had half an hour to pick the stuff out and pay for it!
The first thing that was on my mind was the newest waterproof eyeliner crayon.  I could have just got the champagne color since I thought it would be beautiful on the waterline but even as a highlight would be good too. The four colors I got was pitch black, champagne, brown and purple.  What I like about these is that you don' t have to sharpen them, just twist them up :). They are crayons so they aren't skinny pencils so these would be great for all over the eyes, or if you are that awesome, use them as a liner but it would be a little bit messy to do. These are $3 each from the studio line but I got them for $1.50 each.
I've been itching to get myself some lip liners so when I saw these again on the website, I had to get it! I got myself the colors natural and red.  Red would be perfect for the holiday or just for those that love to wear a red lip :). Can't want to try these and they have a brush on the other side of the pencil with a lid so this is convenient! $3 each ($1.50 from the sale)
The long lasting lustrous eyeshadow was something I was debating on since I saw swatches of these but they were really shimmery and I usually don't wear shimmer on my eyes on a daily basis but I just broke down and got three out of the seven colors they offered.  I got toasted (warm golden brownish color), soiree (pinky purple shade), and confetti (white sliver shimmers).  My most favorite would be toasted since it is a shade that i could wear this everyday.  The consistency is really interesting, I don't think there is anything else like this on the market.  If any of you knows the consistency of the elf studio cream blush or the maybelline bouncy blush but a little bit more moist and much easier to apply! It does stay nicely on the skin but the shimmer does move a little so this isn't something that you would want to wear alone so make sure you use this with powder too!
If you didn't know that the studio primer came out with three more shades to their line, then now you know.  They came out with three new shades to their already popular studio primer which would be radiant glow, tone adjusting (green) and lavender (purple shade for brightening).  I was really intrigued by this since I did like the original primer but because the bottle and the amount of product you get was very little, I didn't bother on continuing to repurchase.  I have to say that I like that changed the bottle.  The outside doesn't look any different but the inside, they used a different method to pump out the product.  Just like their HD blush, this bottle uses the suction so every time you pump it, the little lever thingy goes up and up so you wouldn't waste any product.  The problem with the old bottle is that it just pumps out with a straw and you don't even get to all of the product and you already run out.  $6 per bottle (got them for $3 each)
Also to their really popular contour blush and bronzing cream, they added two new shades and Turks & Caicos really caught my attention.  I saw a lot of other peoples haul videos and everyone said that this gives a nice flush of color but when I opened the compact, hell to the no can this be "natural!" There so much shimmer! Even in the bronze.  I really hope that this is an over spray because I can't do it.  I just can't.  I'm not a fan of shimmer on my face unless it is a fine fine shimmer that gives a nice glow.  We'll see about these. $3 from the studio line
The last product would be their essentials smudge brush.  I actually picked way more stuff then this haul but I ran out of money on paypal LOL so i had to delete a lot of stuff but I forgot about this so I was surprised that I got this.  I quite like it though and since it was only 50 cents so it wasn't a big mistake :).  These are surprisingly soft! And stiff enough so you use it as a smudger.  I do recommend these but one thing to keep in mind that the glue would wear off and the metal would sometimes come off of the wooden handle.

Overall I'm happy that I finally got my package and really wasn't expecting it to come anytime soon since the Hurricane sandy happened and their HQ is in New York and on their facebook they said that black friday orders would be shipped on December 7.

What is your most favorite elf product? Which product are you dying to see me review?

Coastal Scents Combined Haul

It has been about three years since I started to play/ wear make up and I have hear about coastal scents through YouTube (obviously ==) where pursebuzz, who was one of the first guru i followed, introduced this website where they sell fabulous, good quality make up for a decent price. I already have 88 pallettes (color and warm; bought on ebay--> cheaper =P) but i wanted to try their brushes too. I have a bunch of Crown brushes, but it is hard for non-make up artists to get them. They do have a website, but it doesn't work. Anyways, let's get with the haul shall we? Came in the mail in this brown paper bag with bubble wrap built in it. Hehe I'm not showing you where i live =P. The brushes I ordered were wrapped in pink tissue paper and came with these instructions!
Unwrapped, it comes in a mesh bag and two business cards.
This is the Tapered Duo fiber blush brush priced at $6.95 USD. I wanted to get this brush because I thought it looked like the MAC's limited edition 181 brush, but boy was I wrong! The picture on the site makes this brush look like its so lush with the white bristles. The real deal with this one is basically just like the regular blush brush and they stuck a few white bristles and call it a "duo fibre". Omg, this brush is destined to fail. Mine came with a giant spilt in the middle that won't go away even if i deep clean it. This brush is somewhat decent for things like my ELF studio cream blushes, which are kinda hard to blend if you just use your fingers. But seriously, i will never get this brush. DO NOT GET THIS BRUSH!! Chisel Shader brush- this one was one i was looking for in the Sigma brush sets but I don't wanna shell out $100+ just for a few brushes right? So i was quite happy to see Coastal Scents has one for $3.95 USD, good price good price. I really do like this brush for shading and smoking out eyeliner and bottom lashes. It has black hairs, which are very stubby and dense. The bristles are soft enough that it won't poke your eyeballs one. I like this brush so thumbs up!
Precision Detail brush $3.95- This one is essentially the same thing as a MAC 219 (aka. the pencil brush). Just like its name, you can use it in your crease to make a very detailed and sharp V in the corner of your eye or to smoke out some eyeshadow on the bottom/ lash line. I want to say I like this brush, but I'm on the fence about it. I did own the MAC 219 but later returned it because the bristles are super scratchy. Same goes for this brush, the goat hair bristles are super scratchy and you can see its already fraying. Neutral thumb for this brush.
My second haul came at the same time as my instyle issue magazine! Yey =D

Main reason for the second haul was my brush guards were kind of breaking and i needed to replace them. On the coastal scents websites, this retails for $4.95 a pack. Same thing as the one before, my order came in a mesh bag.
I got one of their newer addition to their brush collection: Pro blending fluff brush $4.95 USD
I absolutely loveeeee this brush. No joke, this brush is an all over eyeshadow brush, a defining brush and a blending brush all in one. Side view: as you can see it is a tapered brush and its skinny if you use it on its side. You can get into your crease and define.Front view: Use the belly of the brush for an all over sweep of color.
Bird's eye view
I have been eyeing this brush for a long time, but it wasn't worth it if your going to just buy one thing from coastal scents and have to pay the shipping for it right? This is the Bionic wide buffer brush for $14.95 USD. Not a bad price for a brush that is AWESOME! My foundation sometimes make my dry patches appear, but with this brush it makes my powder foundation look flawless. (Btw, i only wear powder foundation unless its a special occasion. In that case I think wear a bit of liquid.)
It is super duper dense, synthetic bristles and the handle is a shiny black mental.
It looks like its fraying in the picture, but rest assure that its just because I took it out of the plastic wrap, and i think its just static.Synthetic domed mini kabuki for $5.95
What can i say? I like synthetic brushes most the time for my face because its less likely to scratch my face. This one is no exception, super dense and super soft. This brush is basically like a finger brush that is tapered all around. Measurements are 2 in. length and 3/4 in diameter.

Comparing with my palm. Average girl hand size haha, just if your wondering xD

So overall Coastal scents haul was good. Shipping was quite cheap to my surprise, only about $2.95 I believe which is the cheapest shipping around! Some of the products sometimes are a hit and miss. Just be careful with what you pick guys! Have fun shopping =)

ELF haul #15

haha yeah yet another elf haul. I bought the whole master set too just yesterday, so it will arrive around Oct.1. Kinda excited =D The main reason I went ahead with this haul was because I wanted to try their mineral line and their new mineral brushes. I did want to buy all of the brushes, but then i had the whole collection of the studio brushes and a lot of other ones so i didn't buy all of them in the end.I bought: Mineral powder brush, waterproof eyeliner pens (plum, midnight, coffee), 2 nail polish pad, mineral booster in sheer, mineral foundation in light, mineral lipsticks (nicely nude, runway pink), mineral eyeliner in midnight, ELF refer three friends and get a shimmering facial whip in citrus.

I ordered 2 mineral eyeliners, but only one of them came. Also the waterproof eyeliner pen in midnight came all dried up which I wasn't too happy about. These pens have a 50/50 chance of either being super good or super messed up. I don't know if anyone knows this, but on the bottom of the ELF site there's a PETA button that you can click to buy a tweezers for only $2 and it goes towards PETA.

Another OMG moment? Oh geez....ELF?!?!

O....M....G. Elf just released tons of new brushes in the mineral line. It looks sooooooo nice, I'm placing an order now now now!! Why is ELF doing this to me. This would be like my 13th haul xD. BTW all of these new brushes are $5...kind of pricey for ELF but hey, I love buying their products. The whole packaging of the brushes remind a lot of the CVS Essence of Beauty Brushes, don't they?

All-over eyeshadow brush

Angled Blush Brush

Blending Eye Brush

Complexion Brush

Concealer Brush

Contour Brush

Flat Eyeliner Brush

Foundation Brush

Lash & Brow Comb

Lip Brush
Powder Brush

Smudge Brush

How come everytime I want to buy from ELF, they don't have the 50% coupon codes for minerals or studio. I do remember one time when there was a coupon for both at the same time and the 60% coupon code a few days later. Those were the days.

ELF studio brush set

YEY finally, I have all of the studio brushes. My collection is sooooo complete. I almost have every product in the ELF studio line. Lets have a closer look, shall we?Inside the set comes with a small brochure of what the set includes.
The case is actually smaller then I expected it to be, but it is function-able. Its not the best case, but hey if you got it for 50% ($15) it doesn't really matter that much =P. All of the brushes are made from taklon bristles and are all very very soft. They all come nicely packaged with plastic covers, but only the face brushes comes with a case guard.
Angled Foundation Brush- This is actually really nice, I really didn't expect it. Its really nice and dense and the unconventional angle to the brush hugs the face really nicely for a more precise usage.Blush Brush- Has a nice tapered point which is good for highlighting, bronzing and, of course, blush. This isn't the typically fluffly big brush, but a nice small brush. Its almost the same size as our cheeks.Complexion Brush- A fluffy, tapered brush for a light dusting of powder. Its constructed with a narrow bottom and goes up fluffy.Concealer brush- Just the perfect size and shape for blending out concealer. Whether it is a small pimple or using it as a under eye brush, this brush as the right density to do the job.Contour Brush (aka. pencil brush)-A round brush tapered to a point for the precise application in the eyelid crease. Its good for either blending or making that sexy smoked out look.Eyeshadow C brush (also commonly known as the imfamous $1 eyeshadow brush with an upgrade)- Nice dense brush to pack on color.Fan Brush- Brush to sweep away fall out. Powder Brush- #1 best seller of the studio line, the infamous POWDER BRUSH! It is a multi-tasking brush that cane be used with powders, liquids or creams. This brush gives the nice airbrushed look and is good for buffing in powders and liquids.Small Angled Brush- I don't know if they changed this brush or its just a different one when you get it in a set. I bought this one for my mom before and this one seems way nicer, denser and thicker. Its good for filling in brows or lining your eyes.
Small Precision Brush- Another small brush eh? Good for applying eyeshadow on the tear duct area or concealing a blemish.Small Smudge Brush- Wow and I thought the ELF concealer brush was small, but boy was I wrong eh? I was quite surprised when I used it as a eye lining brush. WORKS WONDERS =O. Try it XD.

Conclusion:

-price: A+ ($15 for the whole set with a 50% off studio coupon code)
-packaging: B
-product quality: B+
-Overall quality: A
-Buy again? Yes
