How-To tutorial on Simple Smokey Winged Eye

Products Used:
-Daiso eye lash curler ($2)
-Clinique High Impact Mascara ($20)
-Prestige Waterproof eyeliner in Cocoa ($7)
-Prestige eyeliner in Golden brown ($3--> got it on sale)
-Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes Champagne 23L (metallic pink champagne)
-ELF Mineral Eye Primer ($1.50--> normally $3 but used a coupon code)
-Crown Brushes: Deluxe Oval Shadow ($3), Small chisel brush ($2) , Mascara brush ($3), 88 coastal scents warm palette ($20)
1)Prime your eyes
-By doing so, you have insured your eyeshadow to last longer and won't crease. Also it will make your lids a little sticky so that your colors will be more vibrant.
-apply and blend into lids

2) Apply a nude-ish color for a wash of color.Bold
-use a big dense eyeshadow brush and take some of your nude color
-this color that i choose is a frosty white with gold shimmers; left hand top corner from the 88 warm palette
3) Eye lining-Line really close to your lash line; here it doesn't matter if it is messy because the next step will fix it. -I use a brown instead of black because it looks more natural and throughout the day when it smudges, it won't be as visible.
*TIP: when eye lining your eyes, close your eyes, place your finger on your lid and lift your lid just a little bit, exposing the lash more then normal. Then LINE!*

4) Smudging it out -pick a dark brown color and load it onto your small detail brush (doesn't' matter which kind it is, as long as it is small and dense and can do detailing)
-start smudging from the middle of your lid and make your way to the edge; don't do the winged tip yet though

5) Winged tip
-use the tip of your tiny dense brush and make the winged tip with eyeshadow (reason for this is, it will give you enough drama for daytime without "trying too hard" and being too harsh)
-open your eyes to calculate the degree of your wing (not literally)6) Water lining
-Lining AGAIN? XD yeah....take a golden bronze color and line your water line. Remember not to tug on the bottom lash line because it is very delicate there.
What it looks like now... All we need now are the finishing touches...

7) Lashes
-Curl your lashes and put a coat of mascara
8) Smudge Bottom lash line
-select a dark reddish purple and smudge it on your bottom lash line
9) Highlighting
-Take your white eyeliner and line the inner corners of your eyes. In this case, I'm using a champagne color for a more natural looks.

Advice in buying from ELF cosmetics

So as you might have noticed, I am quite the ELF cosmetics fan. From being an affordable alternative and being good quality, ELF is good for those that wants to build their kits or even food for beginners. But who doesn't want to save money, even if you are buying from their low low prices eh?

1) Always check for coupons before you pay for anything/ choose anything. Coupons usually have restrictions.

-go to retailmenot to check the recent coupons
http://www.retailmenot.com/view/eyeslipsface.com
or
-go to http://www.elfcosmetics.com/ and subscribe to their newsletter

2)For canadian buyers, always use a Paypal account to pay. When you pay for shipping, it would only be the flat rate of $6.95 and not $15. I don't know why, but it is like that.

3) There is ALWAYS a good coupon code, but there is the best sale that only happens once a year. It used to be 75% off sitewide, but this year it was only 60% off. It isn't bad though ^^.

4) If anything goes wrong with your order, anything break or yeah...whatever is wrong, then just go to customer service and tell them what is wrong. Most of the time, they will refund your money but you can also request to get the product sent to you again.
*Note: I have never had any problem with ELF customer service. They are very very respectful for their customers and are very polite and understand. THUMBS UP FOR ELF CUSTOMER SERVICE! Even if they have to listen to people complain all day. If there was an award for best customer service for online shopping, they totally deserve it.*
Hope this helps and Happy shopping at elf.

ELF studio complexion perfection

Yes...the complexion perfection. This has been quite hyped up on Youtube too. I bought this a while back and I had to say my first impression wasn't very good.
ELF Company Claim: "Create a balanced and radiant complexion that is beautiful and healthy. The lightweight formula evens out the skin tone and absorbs excess oil. The sheer formula brightens, mattes and neutralizes the skin. The colors are meant to be blended together as the Blue neutralizes orange, the Green neutralizes red, the Pink neutralizes grey and the Yellow brightens and neutralizes red. "

-balanced complexion? Hmm... well see
-lightweight? so so
-absorbs excess oil? Yes
-brightens, mattes, neutralizes: Yes
Just like elf's claim, you can use these separately or swirl them together. On the color wheel, green is the opposite of red, which means it counter acts redness. But i don't think there is ever orange on my skin...unless you spray tan too much xD. I use the yellow and pink together to counter act purple/ under eye circles.
One of the bad thing is that the powder makes my face a little too white, so unlike the Make Up forever HD powder, it doesn't leave a translucent finish. But don't worry, it doesn't look yellow/green/blue/pink after applied.
The powder itself is nice and silky; pressed quite well too. As for balancing redness, I have quite a bit of redness around my cheeks and my nose. After I used this powder, it didn't balance the redness. I was quite disappointed but it did work for small pimples. So I guess, it does counter act redness, but not the skin deep kind XD...if that made any sense.
