IMATS Vancouver 2013 Haul

Ohh yea, it is haul time :D.  This is an overlook on what I bought.  Not much since most of my money went to Hakuhodo anyways.  I kind of blow my budget of $300 and went a little overboard at Hakuhodo but it is okay because those brushes are worth it.  I work hard for my money, I can treat myself right? LOL Okay okay, i know it is a lot of money but I held off buying anything make up related for half a year! Why do I still feel bad :(.
Overview of the vendors that were there.  I felt like there was only around 12 vendors that were actually there to sell make up and others were just taking up space LOL.

IMATS Vancouver 2013

For the longest time, i was debating whether or not to go to the IMATS.  I didn't want to go because during the two weeks, I would be spending a butt load of money.  I even tried to sell my ticket but then found out that you can only transfer the ticket before April 4.  So I was kind of stuck with the thought, should i waste $30 and save me hundreds or just go?  In the end I went because I wanted a Make up forever face and body liquid foundation and a few Hakuhodo brushes.  NYX wasn't there sadly or else my experience with IMATS this year would have been better.  I didn't take a whole lot of pictures because, well IMATS really didn't impress me all that much.  As a matter of fact, it was quite disappointing.
I got there bright and early, right before they opened. I maybe should have went there half an hour early so I could get to the Make up forever booth faster but I choose to sleep a little bit more keke.  Woke up at 7:00 am, put on some make up, and got my bum out the door and onto the skytrain.  When I got there, i had to take my online ticket and get my neon orange band.  The neon orange band was for a certain day and a blue band is for two days.

Imats Vancouver 2013! Here I come~

Okay, I really can not contain my excitement because i decided I'm going to go to the IMATS show this year again.  I went the first year they were here back in 2010.  It was a really big dissapointment back then because I would be watching youtube gurus going to the one in LA and it is amazing! I was expecting they would at least have Mac there but nope.  I didn't read the exhibitor list.  There was only about 28 vendors which really stinked. The convention was super small too, in the Marriot downtown ballroom.  Nonetheless, I bought a lot of crown brushes back then, more then $100 worth for 22 brushes but the guy gave me a discount for $80 for all.  What a nice guy :').

I believe just last year, they changed the event to the Vancouver convention center so there would be a lot more space.  This year there is more interesting vendors such as Ben Nye, crown brushes (for sure, getting me some more super cheap brushes), eve pearl, Hakuhodo brushes (omg I am going to attack that booth, Kryolan make up, Make up forever (40% off everything), NYX make up, saucebox (a newbie to me), and Velour lashes.

The few vendors that sold me to go would be NYX for sure, Hakuhodo japanese handcrafted luxury brushes, make up forever and velour lashes.  I've already been doing all my research and here is my wishlish so far.  This is very helpful for those of you that are going to an IMATS event since you would have an idea of how much money your going to have to bring/ spend and you wouldn't have to waste your time looking when everyone is going to be shoving you out of the way to get some stuff for themselves.

From make up forever, I'm eyeing only a few things.
MUFE Aqua brow in blonde or ash $20.  I don't know which shade I should get, but i think i would settle for blonde since I'm buying it for my mom and she doesn't have dark brows like me.  Or I might just get the two.

MUFE Aqua lip waterproof lip liner in 1c- nude beige and 15c- vibrant pink.  Each for $20.  I myself don't have any lip liners so I think these two would be a good ones for my
collection.

Recreation of Roberto Roberto Cavalli Fall 2012

I post this beauty look a few days ago and I was so inspired by the model's beautiful picture. Roberto Cavalli Fall 2012 beauty look was inspired by bugs' beauty and their colors. This look really reminds me of a dragon fly and the colors that are portrayed when the sun hits it.

Dark green lid color: Maybelline Color explosion ($6) in Forest Fury (Dark green in the V)

Middle green highlight: Maybelline Color explosion in Forest Fury $6 (Lime green color)

Light middle eyelid highlight: Maybelline color explosion $6 (Shimmery golden yellow color)

Cut crease color:
1) Color base= MUFE flash palette $95 in Brown 023
2) Setting color: ELF ultimate eyeshadow palette $15; mixture of browns

Inner lid color: Leishi pigments $20 for 40 colors on ebay; #78 purple color with blue and purple iridescents

Inner highlight color: Leishi pigments $20 for 40 colors on ebay; #005 (fushia pink color with blue iridescents

Inner tear duct: Benefit high beam liquid highlight $30 and shimmer pink color from Claire's shimmer palette $12 (I depot it and put it in a palette)

Eyeliner: MAC technakohl liner in Graphblack $18
Black setting color: MAC carbon black $20
Curler: Daiso lash curler $2

Mascara: L'oreal million lashes mascara $8

Most of the products I used are drugstore and inexpensive. The Maybelline color explosion in Forest Fury is the best pick for this look. The colors are spot on, its like they used Maybelline products for their fashion show :D. Anyways, I hope you guys like this recreation.

The holiday seasons are coming up and i thought i would do a christmas look. I just started with a simple red, added a green and then hints of gold. It just screams christmas don't you think? I did this look backwards though. Usually i would start from the inner lid first, but i did the crease first and then built my way into the inner crease.

Inner lid color: ELF studio eyeshadow palette--> Golden color on the left hand side of the palette
Middle lid color: ELF studio eyeshadow palette----> tree green on left hand side; shown in the picture
Crease color: ELF studio 100 eyeshadow palette--> red color from bottom right; shown in the picture
Tear duct highlight: Same color as inner crease color
Gold accents: Make up forever flash palette in Gold 004
Eyeliner: Elf essentials liquid eyeliner in black

Make up forever 12 flash color case

I have been eyeing this pallette for a while now because of the beautiful bright colors and the pure white. I had always longed for the Nyx jumbo eye pencil in Milk, but sadly we never have it here in Canada even though there is a small selection of NYX products in Save on food. This palette consists of 12 regular flash colors: Gold 004 (metallic gold), Coral 002 (vibrant coral), Turquoise 000 (light turquoise), Fuchsia 005 (bright fuchsia pink), Yellow 013 (vibrant yellow), Brown 023 (dark brown), Silver 003 (metallic silver), White 010 (pure white), Red 017 (bright red), Bright Blue 014 (bright royal blue), Leaf Green 008 (bright green), and Black 011 (pure black).
Not to scare you or anything, but the price tag for this product is pretty...WOW! If you buy each color seperatly, it would cost you $216 but if you buy this palette all together, it would only be $95. 95 bucks for this product? Is it really really worth the money? Haha dont' worry, I bought this at IMATS Vancouver so it was only $65. I do have to say though that....THIS WAS WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY!
Swatches of the Top row
Bottom Row

All of the colors are very creamy but the white is so creamy, that I seriously only need to use the littlest amount to get the effect I want. You can use each color soley or mix them together to get new colors just like painting. Not only are these good as color bases for eyeshadow, but you can also use them as cheek stains or on your lips too. Heres an example of mixing color.
Plum color=Red + Bright Blue and the Bright Yellow= Coral and yellow

Lets do an experiment--> an idea from my wall of inspiration.
I'll call this..."Sunset Eyes".
If that's not bright, I don't know what is.

AND drum roll plz......
If I didn't use the MUFE flash color, I swear nothing can be as bright as this. Btw I used the red and a little bit of coral for this eye look. Absolutely AWESOME!

Conclusion:
-price: C+ (kinda expensive)
-packaging: B
-product quality: A
-Overall quality: B+
-Buy again? Yes
